About This Service

A refrigerant leak quietly destroys your AC efficiency and eventually burns out the compressor — a major and expensive failure if ignored. We use electronic leak detectors, UV dye, and nitrogen pressure tests to find leaks accurately. Once repaired, we evacuate the system, weigh in fresh refrigerant per manufacturer spec, and verify performance.nnWe handle R-410A, R-32, R-454B, and legacy R-22 systems (transitional only — R-22 is phased out).

What's Included

  • EPA Section 608 certified technicians
  • Electronic leak detection + UV dye
  • Proper evacuation and weigh-in charging

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about refrigerant leak repair in Colorado.

Can I get a quote for refrigerant leak repair?

Yes — every job starts with leak detection (electronic + UV dye), then we quote the repair plus refrigerant recharge based on the type and amount needed. Older R-22 systems are more expensive due to refrigerant phase-out, so we'll discuss whether replacement makes more sense.

Can't you just add more refrigerant?

No — federal law (EPA Section 608) prohibits "topping off" without finding the leak. Plus, refrigerant leaks always get worse, and adding more without fixing the cause damages the compressor.

How do you find the leak?

We use electronic refrigerant detectors (sniff for refrigerant), UV dye injection (visible under blacklight), and nitrogen pressure tests. Most leaks found in 1-2 hours.

My AC is R-22 — can it still be repaired?

R-22 systems can be repaired but R-22 refrigerant is phased out and increasingly expensive. For systems 12+ years old with major R-22 leaks, replacement often makes more long-term sense — we'll give you both options and the math.

Is refrigerant leak dangerous?

Modern refrigerants (R-410A, R-32) are non-toxic in normal exposure but can cause asphyxiation in confined spaces. Don't breathe near leaks. We always seal and ventilate during repair.
